Defensive Driving Theory

Our GLP certified instructors teach our driver education theory course designed to give students the foundations of driving knowledge to be ready for the road. Our course goes beyond the required study to pass the learner’s knowledge test; our students are given a new text book and binder on the first day of classes.

GLP Driver Education Theory                        $300

  • 18 hour classroom theory course

  • Already included in most of our driver training plans

You can take theory on its own or as part of a driving program. If you are taking a Graduated Licensing Program you will be required to take at least one in-car driving lesson before you complete all of the theory classes to meet ICBC’s integration requirement. There will also be approximately four hours of homework, reading, and a hands-on pre-trip homework assignment, based on the textbook supplied with the course.

Some theory topics include:

  • Graduated Licensing

  • Defensive driving practices

  • Road regulations

  • Engine components

  • Vehicle systems (engine, cooling, braking, etc.)

  • What to do at the scene of a crash

  • Vehicle safety

  • The effects of drugs and alcohol on driving

  • The physics of driving

  • Hazards and weather conditions

  • and more!

North Vancouver Office Theory Dates

We combine two sessions in one day for a total of six hours per day for three days at our office theory classes. Office theory classes are scheduled on weekends and over school breaks / holidays for North and West Vancouver School Districts.

Location:      1821 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver

Time:             9:00am to 3:30pm

There is a 30 minute lunch break from 12:00pm to 12:30pm and two 15 minute coffee breaks in the morning and afternoon sessions.
