Instructor Training Course Structure

The Class 5/7 instructor training course runs for two weeks full time. The Class 1 instructor training courses run for three weeks full time. Courses are available year-round with a minimum of three and maximum of twelve trainees per class.  Classes are held at our Burnaby office location, close to accommodations.

Testing

There are two written exams, and one in-vehicle exam. If you are unsuccessful on your first attempt, you are permitted to write each exam up to three times. Rewrites for the written exams are free of charge, but there are charges for your second and third attempts of your in-vehicle exam.

Equipment

For Class 1 training sessions we use conventional highway tractors with integral sleepers where trainees are able to alternate between driving and observing from the sleeper. For Class 5/7 training, we use fully dual-controlled Toyota Corollas. Our instructors will also prepare you to instruct from the right side of the vehicle.
