This program deals with the control of Air Brake operated vehicles in depth as well as the Pre-Trip requirements.

Classroom Training - 16 hrs.

• Basic air brake system and its components
• Complete air brake system for single unit vehicles.
• Basic air brake system for trailers.
• Complete air brake system for combination vehicles
• Principals of operation of combination air brake systems
• Successful candidates are eligible to apply to write their Air Brake test at ICBC. This is required before you can add Air Brake Endorsement to your license.

Pre-Trip Training - 4 hours

• Pre-Trip inspection of air brake system
• In-service operation.
• Pre-hill checks.
• End-of-service checks.
• Characteristics of single and combination units
• Additional equipment systems. (Sanders, etc).

Total hours Air Brake/Pre-Trip training: 20 Hrs.
